{November 24, 2008}   Laying Low

Please give me grace as I am quite for the next month.  The 16 hour days are getting me and I am drowning in work.  I am not ignoring you, just working so much I can’t remember it all!

Don’t forget that tomorrow is at Kirsten’s house and is Peters Party (Yeay he is 1).

Blessings,

Katrina the hurrican!

Rachel is having a Lia Sophia party at her house this weekend on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 2pm if you are interested in going.  It will be a small party and babies are welcome.  Don’t feel intimidated to purchase anything – it’s another reason to go and mingle with friends!

I will be emailing out the information.  If you don’t receive the email, please let me know and I will be sure that I get it to you!

Rachel – you can count on Finn and myself being there!

As you all know, next Tuesday (Nov. 25th) is going to be at Kirsten’s House and we will be making the reindeer gifts for the grandparents, aunts, care providers, whomever you choose!

Chris and Wendi please comment as to how many towels and/or little canvas tote bags you would like to make for your families and Kirsten is going to pick it all up and we will pay her on Tuesday.  The towels are about 2 for $3 and the little totes I believe she said was about $1.50 a piece.  You can choose to make as many as you want.  The towels are white quilted like.  Most of us chose about 3 or 4 to make and added one for a mistake!

Kirsten’s address is 211 Eau Claire Blvd.  If you need to find her phone number or any other information, please look at the info Katrina send out in an email a while back.

We can’t wait to see you on Tuesday!  Bring clean feet and hands!!!

{November 14, 2008}   Swim into the New Year….

While we are planning for the rest of the year – we should maybe think about planning for the New Year!

A while back, we had talked about replacing Tuesday group with Swimming Lessons at the YMCA for a session.  I spoke with the Acquatic Director (she wasn’t very personable) at the Downtown YMCA and she said to sign up for the session that is already scheduled.

So, I’m trying to determine interest in this.  The swimming lessons would begin January 6 and run 7 weeks to Feb 16.  They would be on Tuesdays at 4:15pm.

The class the kids would be in is called “Shrimp” and registration begins Dec. 1 at 8am for members and Dec. 3 at 8am for non-members.  The cost is $24 for members and $44 per non-members.  The class description reads as follows “A special water enrichment program designed to help the parent work with the child in learning to enjoy water.”  It is for 6 months to 2 year olds.

Kirsten and I took the Fall session together and it was pretty fun.  Our instructor wasn’t the greatest but it’s really what you make of it, they were more there just to supervise and with all of us, it would be fun.  I know Chris and Mindy took it with Erin and Anna and they seemed to enjoy their instructors.

Leave a comment and let me know your interest in this.  Don’t be afraid to say you aren’t interested at all – just trying to get some idea whether to pursue it further or not!

—-Please let me know what you think of these dates.—–  This makes me excited for the year.  Thank Ladies for all the fun.

I posted a week ago about the nursery in South America that my friend Major Nancy is in charge of.  I have spoken to her about giving this Christmas to their nursery which is desperately in need of materials.  From beds for the infants to blankets, diapers, food, crayons, toys, paper and of course good books.  Because of shipping expenses there are two ways we can help.  One would be to collect money which I can deposit in to an american account (Salvation Army, not personal) which they can then draw from over there.  Or we can order things on line and ship them over there (of course shipping costs are high, but so is life).

Do you all want to do a fund drive for this or no? I don’t mind either way, I just thought it might be something to present to you.  By fund drive I mean that we all just pick an amount we can and want to give and then either place the cash in the account or pick what things we can purchase for them and order than and have them there in time for Christmas.  Let me know below if you:

1. Want to do it

2. Want to do the cash or the on-line order

thanks.

{November 12, 2008}   Calander Notes

Okay ladies the crazy season is upon us and we need to get organized!

1. Would you like to do a Christmas party? Do we want to do the ornament exchange? or a “secret Santa” or no gifts just party? What day, the 9th or 16th?

2. Do you want to help do toy packing at The Salvation Army (TSA)? We could do it either Saturday  13th or 20 or Tuesday the 16th.

3. Grandparent present making day/Thanksgiving party/Peter’s party do you want Tuesdaythe 25 or the 18th?  Peter is One on the 24th. Yeay Peter (no gifts for his teeth, he has many other great things besides his award wining “got milk” smile!!!)  or do you want to do Saturday 22 or 29?

Finally: New Years Party.  Do you want to do it at NOON on the 1st (Thursday) or do a New Years Eve at NOON on that Wednesday…or just the regular Tuesday time???

Please post below so we can start filling it all in

{November 10, 2008}   Gifts

Now that Birthdays and Christmas are coming quickly what toys/book/ideas do you have for your little one?

{November 10, 2008}   One year down…a life time to go

So now that a handful of you are done with your first year of mommy-hood, what is new?

Breastfeeding and sleeping are always the first year issues, but now what are the issues?

What when well that you thought wouldn’t?

What was harder than you thought?

Just wondering!

{November 7, 2008}   Help my milk is flooding me.

So this morning I opened the chest freezer outside and it is so full of my milk I can’t get anything else in there.  Our freezer inside…full.  I have offically decided to not save any more milk.  After the 20 milk bags are gone I am done saving.  I figure that I have enough milk to get all of our kids through the month with a little left over.  I just don’t want to stop pumping and then not have enough for the days she is nursing instead of getting the bottle at school.  But maybe I should stop.

Anyone need milk?
